Old Dominion Electric Cooperative (ODEC) today issued a statement in response to PJM Interconnection’s recently released results of the 2027/2028 Base Residual Auction (BRA). The auction cleared at the FERC-approved price cap of $333.44 per megawatt-day—a slight increase of 1.3% from the previous auction.
While the auction results reflect a continued tightening supply-demand balance, ODEC emphasized that its members remain largely insulated from the financial impacts of these market dynamics. ODEC covers more than 80% of its capacity obligation with owned generation and further mitigates exposure by purchasing power in advance at advantageous prices.
