Old Dominion Electric Cooperative (ODEC) announced today that it has entered into a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) to purchase 100% of the energy and capacity from the 600-megawatt (MW) Wolf Summit Generating Station, located in Harrison County, West Virginia. This strategic acquisition aligns with ODEC’s continued commitment to providing reliable and affordable electricity to its member cooperatives across the mid-Atlantic region.
Wolf Summit Generating Station is situated within the Allegheny Power Systems (APS) Zone of the PJM Interconnection, precisely where ODEC serves approximately 600 MW of member load from BARC Electric Cooperative, Rappahannock Electric Cooperative and Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative. This geographic alignment provides a powerful hedge against market volatility and enhances system reliability by sourcing energy closer to where it is consumed.
